– Blue Point Brewing Company, the award-winning Long
Island microbrewer, will host their 4th annual CASK ALE
FESTIVAL on Saturday, January 26th, 2008. It will offer
the attendees something quite unique when the Brewmaster
taps the world’s largest cask holding nearly 10,000
pints of his new, custom brew, Rye Hop Knot. For the first
time, the Blue Point Brewing Company will welcome some of
their friends and fellow brewers from the City of Brotherly
Love to be part of the festivities.
Blue
Point Brewing Company will welcome Legacy Brewing Company
and the award-winning Sly Fox Brewery to their upcoming
Cask Ale Festival. “The addition of these two strong
craft beer brands from Philly will be a special treat to
the Long Island festival attendees,” said Mark Burford,
Brewmaster at the Blue Point Brewing Company.
Legacy
Brewing Company, located in the Philly suburb of Reading,
PA, produces amazing craft beers. It is able to deliver
unique, handcrafted, high quality beer by employing brewing
techniques learned from both European and American brewers.
Legacy Brewing Company will be presenting their Nor’
Easter Imperial Oatmeal Stout at the Cask Ale Festival.
Receiving
both a Gold and Bronze medal at the 2007 Great American
Beer Festival competition, Sly Fox Brewery made Pennsylvania
proud. On January 26th, they will meet up with the Blue
Point Brewing Co. at the Cask Ale Festival. Sly Fox will
be presenting two great beers to Long Island beer lovers
attending the festival—Christmas Ale and their Odyssey
Double IPA.
Several
other breweries will be joining the celebration, including:
South Hampton Publick House, Black Forest Brewery, Long
Island Meadery, Brooklyn Brewery, John Harvard’s Brew
House, The Brickhouse Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing
Company, Iron Hill, and Keegan Ales. Award-winning Chef
Eric Rifkin, owner of Bobbique, will be on-site preparing
delicious food to compliment these fine craft beers.
The
Cask Ale Festival will take place on Saturday, January 26th,
from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Blue Point Brewery—161 River
Ave. Patchogue, New York. Tickets to the event are $30.00
and designated drivers are admitted for $10.00. Tickets
can be purchased online at the www.bluepointbrewing.com
or at the brewery on the day of the event for $40.00 if
tickets are still available. Attendees will receive a half-pint
English-style commemorative glass and six tasting tickets
(additional tickets are $3 each). Plus, they will also receive
a coupon good for one free half-gallon growler of beer to
be redeemed next time they visit the tasting room at Blue
Point Brewery. Only those 21 and over with valid photo ID
will be admitted to the event.
