Starfish
Junction Productions, event producer, gears up for
another great show this year—the 2nd Annual
Coffee & Tea Festival: NYC, an international
extravaganza being held on Saturday and Sunday,
April 28 and 29, 2007 at the Metropolitan Pavilion,
125 West 18th Street, New York, NY. According to
Andy Calimano, president of Starfish Junction Productions,
“Our inaugural Coffee & Tea Festival in
2006 was a great success. We’re going
to be on the Food Network this month, that should
bring some nice publicity to the 2007 show and the
event exhibitors.” Highlights from the
2006 festival can be seen on the Food Network show
Unwrapped starting April 9th. Over 5,000 attendees
are expected to gather at the beautiful Metropolitan
Pavilion to celebrate coffee, tea, confections and
all that goes with the enthusiastic and sophisticated
fascination with coffee and tea.
The two day festival will feature everything related
to coffee and tea and will offer consumers the opportunity
to sample different coffees and teas from around
the world. Featured exhibitors include: Tavalon
Tea, Ceylon Treasures, Jalima Coffee, Sympatea,
and local micro-roaster Real Coffee Corp. Attendees
will try the world’s first edible coffee from
Acapella Gourmet Foods, a Chicory Stout from Dogfish
Head Brewery, and delectable gourmet green tea chocolate
from Keiko. The festival will have something for
everyone.
New to the program this year, will be a coffee cupping
and tasting hosted by Marcela Zuchovicki from Jalima
Coffee, a chocolate tasting hosted by Tasting Club
author Dina Cheney, live espresso painting by Karen
Eland, and afternoon tea instruction by celebrated
author and tea etiquette authority, Ellen Easton.
An authentic Japanese tea ceremony is scheduled
to be performed twice daily.
In
addition to being at tremendous exhibitor and sponsorship
opportunity, and a delightful way for visitors to
spend the day, the 2nd Annual Coffee & Tea Festival:
NYC benefits The Freeplay Foundation with The Coffee
Lifeline Project, the official charity of the event.
The Coffee Lifeline is a radio communications project
that provides essential information and education
to coffee farmers and will bring growers together
via global radio broadcasts. Coffee Lifeline empowers
producers by giving them sustained access to information
that can directly affect their ability to improve
their own lives.
Registration and information for exhibitors, sponsors,
and attendees is available on line at www.coffeeandteafestival.com.
